Salt and Pepper

Time seemed
Fleeting
So I went to the woods
To see
The scenery
Pay my attention
To the features
And the path beneath me
Squinting and behold
Within my vision
Snow seasoned
With sticks, stems,
Weather-beaten
Pine needles
Path
Peppered
With dirt flecks
And a little bit of left over
Winter glitter
A mosaic of leaves
Creates a makeshift carpeting
But a lot like the universe and you and me
The Forest Floor is made of magic and moss… mostly
The sky is speckled
With feathers
Wind and weather
A ceiling
Sugared with
Cotton candy clouds
And a jeweled moon crown
Sometimes salted
With scattered stars
The galaxy is actual art
Breathtakingly bizarre
But a lot like the universe and the rest of us
The Sky Ceiling is made mostly of mystic stuff
Mystery and cosmic dust
Somewhere between
The forest floor and sky's ceiling
Floating
Are my head and feet
Meanwhile
Maybe
I don't know what it really means
But last I checked, I'm still breathing
Believe me
I’m still memory making
And as long as there's time for the taking
I'm stealing
Death cheating
And putting feeling
Into each hearts beating
